Jason 4th in Oberhof!

Jason 4th in Oberhof! The results: 1 Johnny Spillane (USA), 2 Felix Gottwald (AUT), 3 Björn Kircheisen (GER).

The other French: 20 Sébastien Lacroix +3:02.7min, 23 Francois Braud +3:22.5min, 33 Jonathan Félisaz +5:17.9min, 34 Nicolas Martin +5:19.4min.

After his sixth place after jumping and 14s behind the leader after jumping, Janne Ryynänen (FIN), Jason Lamy Chappuis found himself pretty quickly in a group of athletes which grew and got smaller again during the 10km race. Only Johnny Spillane (USA) attacked very early and increased his advance against his followers. This was also how he came to celebrate his very first World Cup victory after he already got World Champion in 2003! Behind him, Felix Gottwald (AUT) got second on the Björn Kircheisen (GER) third. With only a small margain of seconds behind Kircheisen, Jason got fourth. He remains in yellow nevertheless!

Sébastien Lacroix had also a very good race today after which he finished 20th! Francois Braud was lucky and could still take one valuable World Cup point for the overall World Cup ranking. Jonathan Félisaz and Nicolas Martin, who skied together the whole time during the race, placed 33 and 34! "I am pretty saitsfied with the accomplishments of the guys today, especially with Nicolas Martin for whom it was the first real World Cup after his sart in Chaux-Neuve last year! Sébastien showed a good race and he also had a good jump, only the conditions were not very good when he jumped; it snowed a lot and the speed was slow. The same goes for Jonathan Félisaz. Now it's time for two days of rest at home and one more jumping day in Chaux-Neuve on Wednesday before the team wil travel to Val di Fiemme for the next World Cup!" says Etienne Gouy, the chief coach of the A team.
